The Dramatic Opening for Coffee

Ok, my earlier versions of the intro for coffee was scrapped. Further review from me proved that it really sucked. I decided to do a more Dramatic openning. Here is what I used for my May 30th show and my June 6th show. I think I'm going to try a combination of the two this weekend. I may render a few more shots in Carrara 3D so I canmake the shots a bit quicker.

A friend of mine likes building these paper creations and he has the idea to do a stop-motion version using these things. My thought is to first create it in Carrara as sort of a 3D storyboard. The idea is we can perfect everything first before we spend hours and hours going stop motion. This is an early test I created to show him what can be done. I think I'll do it over again as it's arms move a little too fast.

My 3D hand Job

I spend a long time trying to create a realistic, human, 3D hand that I can animate. Hopefully next weekend, I'll have something to show.

I was finally able to get me mini-animation studio set up in the back room. If you haven't been following this, My wife and I have redecorated the living room and so my workstation had to be moved out.

So I was able to begin designing my Alien/Mutant (not sure yet). After a few hours on the left hand, I was unhappy with it, so much so, I will not post images of it. Iwill try again this weekend and hopefully have something to post.

Looking to get into the 3D world of Carrara but don't want to pay the hundreds of dollars that it cost to get a new copy of 6 or the upcoming 7?

You can get 3D basics for $19.95, Carrara 5 Professional for $97.95 or Daz Carrara Studio 6.0 for less than $200.

That deal on five is a good one as five has a lot of good stuff. It's obviously not as advanced for 6, but for the money you won't be sorry.

BTW, I'm not selling, or making money on any of these. just trying to get this wonderful program out there!

I think that is the idea for my next 3D attempt. I imagine it to be sort of the Hills Have Eyes but from the other side. You know, from the mutant's point of view.

Scene 1:
Ext. A RV Camper rides down a empty road in the mountains with a family of four, Father, Mother, daughter and son. They also have a dog. Up in the hills, a mutant watches. The camper skids off the road and has four flat tires. The mutant smiles and mumbles. "Dinner Tonight"

So that's as far as I got.

As a guy who has many projects going on, I have dedicated my weekends to work on my 3D animations. Unfortunately, the weekend gone by was busy buying new living room furniture, which required moving my workstation to a back bedroom (which isn't put back together yet). Now that we have new furniture, next weekend will be painting the living room. For those of you who might be upset about my lack of progress, talk to my wife!

An Update From Me! - The Amateur Animator

I must apologize for not updating this site for over a week. It's been the holidays and since I've decided to stop with "The Pair that Wouldn't Die", at least for now, and move on to something else.

I am going to attempt to design an Alien, green or gray, big black eyes and all the rest. This one will be better built than my previous efforts complete with body. I sort of imaging him waking up in the desert all disorientated. That's as far as I've got.

If anyone has a simple story idea, please let me know.

Anyway, I'm going to enjoy my New Years celebration and start work on my new epic as soon as I recover!

I'm not an expert on Carrara. I am learning, however, and a great place to learn in forums. There are a few Carrara forums. The problems is that know one used them anymore. Postforum has a Carrara forum section. I asked a question on there back in January of 2007. It was never answered and since than, almost two years later, there has been only post since and it's never been answered.

Maybe my little film here will start the new Carrara 3D revolution! Maybe not!

The Pear cartoon is getting better

It is still not perfect but it is slowly getting better. Yes, this cartoon is taking a long time, but it is a learning thing. Once this is done, I'm hoping to have enough experience to do something totally original.

3D Flame Test - Too Slow

I thought I'd show how I created my burner flame for the lab. Here is a video of what the flame looks like. I think the flame is a bit too slow so I'll have to speed it up.

Here are the settings I used for this flame. I always set the Completion to 0% at the beginning of the shot and 100% at the end. I believe it is the upward speed I need to adjust for my next test.
